Drag-and-drop is not automation

There’s a difference between making manual dispatch faster and removing the need to manually dispatch.

A modern planning board can make it easier to drag freight onto trucks.

That is useful.

But if an operation has predictable lanes, zones, service types, cut-offs and run patterns, the better question is: why is a person dragging the freight at all?

Encode the operating logic once. Let software allocate the normal work. Let the dispatcher deal with exceptions.

The best dispatch board may be the one the dispatcher barely has to use.
